Architecture
Conceptual experience pavilion about the history of the mining site of Waterschei. The concept was to give the visitors a similar experience as the miners would undergo when decending into the mine shafts. From being submerged into the pitch black darknes until rising above ground into the bright industrial halls. Designed as part of the European Biennial of Contemporary Art, Manifesta 9.
This project was a co-operation with Dana Schoofs and Joke Swennen.
